Merge Among Us

In Merge Among Us, the crewmates do not vote or chase impostors at all. The action moves to a tiny 5x5 grid where the astronauts slowly level up through smart merges. The whole screen looks like a puzzle board from a space lab, filled with colorful suits and helmets lined up in squares. The core action is simple to see. A yellow astronaut already stands somewhere on the grid, and under the field, a box shows the next astronaut piece waiting. The color and rank of this new crewmate matter because only twins with the same rank actually fuse into a stronger character. Drop a yellow on a matching yellow, or red on red, or blue on blue, and the two instantly combine into a higher-ranked astronaut.

How to play?

Drag the astronaut from the box and place it on any free square, preferably next to a matching character. When two identical ranks touch the same tile, they merge, freeing up space and creating a stronger version. Characters with different colors or different ranks simply sit where they are and block cells for future moves. Fill the 5x5 grid without thinking ahead, and the available space quickly disappears.

Plan several placements in advance to chain merges and keep the board open for new astronauts. Connect as many characters as possible to climb through the ranks and stretch the round longer. Stay focused, watch the incoming piece in the box, and keep creating higher-ranked space crewmates before the field locks up.

Game features:

  • The board is fixed at a 5x5 grid, so every placed astronaut permanently uses one of only 25 cells.
  • Only astronauts with the same color and rank merge, making color matching and rank tracking equally important.
  • Merging two astronauts always frees one cell and creates a single higher-ranked character in that square.
  • The game replaces Among Us meetings and impostor hunts with a pure merge-puzzle format focused on logical placement.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Place early pieces toward the center of the grid to leave more options around them.
  • Avoid dropping astronauts in corners unless they create an instant merge.
  • Check the next astronaut in the box before placing the current one to set up future merges.
  • Use each merge to clear tight spots on the board where several ranks are already crowding.
